Fast, practical support for UK import declarations, GB ENS safety and security declarations, T1 transit paperwork and GVMS / GMR queries.
Instant Clearances helps EU hauliers and transport companies prepare the customs documents and references needed for journeys into Great Britain, with 24/7 support for urgent shipments.
CUSTOMS SUPPORT FOR YOUR TRANSPORT TEAM
A booked crossing leaves little room for missing paperwork or unclear instructions. Your transport team needs to know which declarations are required, which references belong in the GMR and what the driver needs before check-in.
Instant Clearances provides customs clearance for EU hauliers, transport companies and freight forwarders bringing goods into Great Britain. We prepare the agreed declarations, check shipment information and provide practical guidance throughout the movement.
From a single urgent load to regular EU–UK crossings, you’ll deal directly with customs professionals who understand the pressure of keeping vehicles and deliveries on schedule.
WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH
The documents needed depend on the goods, route and customs procedure. We help identify the requirements and prepare the declarations agreed for your shipment.
We prepare and submit UK import declarations through HMRC’s Customs Declaration Service.
Our team reviews the commercial and transport information, checks the relevant declaration details and helps resolve customs queries as the clearance progresses.
Need a GB ENS declaration for goods entering Great Britain? We prepare and submit Entry Summary Declarations through S&S GB using the carrier, cargo and journey information supplied.
You receive the accepted movement reference, with support for amendments if relevant details change before arrival.
Not sure how to get a GMR or which references to include? We help your transport team understand the Goods Vehicle Movement Service and the information needed for the movement.
We supply the references from declarations we prepare and explain how they relate to the GMR for your crossing.

From your first enquiry to the references your driver needs, we make the process straightforward. Here’s how we prepare your customs paperwork and help your team understand what belongs in the GMR for your crossing.
01
Share the commercial invoice, packing list, transport documents, vehicle details and planned route. Include the port or terminal and expected crossing time.
We check whether your movement needs an import declaration, GB ENS, customs transit paperwork or a combination of these. We’ll explain any missing information.
03
Our team submits the relevant declarations through the appropriate customs systems and provides the resulting references.
04
We explain which of the supplied references are relevant to your GMR. Your transport team can then complete the vehicle movement details and pass the required information to the driver.

For T1 or other transit declarations, we may also need the holder-of-procedure details, relevant customs offices and guarantee information.
GVMS, GMR, ENS AND TRANSIT EXPLAINED
A Goods Movement Reference is created through the Goods Vehicle Movement Service for movements that require one.
The GMR brings together the relevant customs references and vehicle or trailer details for the crossing. What you enter depends on the route and customs procedure.
Instant Clearances provides the references from declarations we prepare and helps your transport team understand which information is needed.
We can help you understand the declaration references supplied by our team and how they relate to your vehicle movement.
Send us your route, crossing details, existing references and any error message. We’ll review the information and advise on the next steps within the services we provide.
No. A GMR connects the relevant references to a vehicle movement through GVMS.
It does not replace an import declaration, a GB ENS safety and security declaration or transit paperwork where these are required.
EORI requirements depend on the activity you are carrying out. Importing goods, using GVMS and arranging safety and security declarations can involve different registration requirements.
Send us your existing EORI details and explain whether you are acting as the importer, carrier or transport provider. We’ll help identify what is needed for the service concerned.
We support movements through all major UK freight locations, including Dover, Eurotunnel, Hull, Immingham, Teesport and the Port of Tyne.

Many straightforward import declarations can be prepared within an hour once complete and accurate information is received.
Final release depends on factors including HMRC processing, port systems, duties and taxes, and any required checks. ENS declarations also have advance submission deadlines, so send your details before the crossing wherever possible.
Yes. We support single consignments and regular freight movements.
Send us your shipment details and timing so we can confirm the requirements and provide a quote.
A GB ENS is an Entry Summary Declaration submitted through S&S GB for goods entering Great Britain where required.
It contains advance cargo, carrier and transport information used for safety and security checks. It is separate from the import customs declaration.
Most goods entering Great Britain from the EU require an ENS unless an exemption applies.
Responsibility depends on the transport arrangements. We can help identify the relevant requirements and submit the declaration using the information provided by the carrier and shipment parties.
For EU-to-Great Britain movements, including the ENS reference in the GMR is optional.
The ENS must still be submitted where required, whether or not its reference is included in the GMR.
Yes. We support T1 transit paperwork, including NCTS submissions, movement references and checks of route, customs-office and guarantee information.
Send us the goods details and planned journey so we can confirm the appropriate transit support.
Where a GMR is required for goods moving under the Common Transit procedure, the transit reference is used.
Associated import declaration references should not also be entered for those same goods. We can help explain the references relevant to the movement we are supporting.
Yes. We provide 24/7 support for urgent, time-sensitive shipments.
